Ramanuja the saint; who broke the tradition for the benefit of all.

After 18 attempts he finally receives one of the most powerful mantra----as per the tradition, he was told to keep this a secret  otherwise he would go to hell.

----Back in town he climbs the highest tower of the temple----he calls the people who gather in thousands----and gives the Ashtakshari mantra to all----

This news his reaches guru---angry with his act of giving the sacred mantra to all---he asked him  why have you done this----
---he says all the people who have learnt this mantra are sure to receive salvation so it does not matter if I go to hell----his guru realizes his greatness and praises him.

---the student has awakened the guru---

He was the saint Ramanuja and he shared with all; one of the most powerful mantra:

 “Om Namo Narayana”

Without any restrictions of caste, creed or other man-made denominations.

Bahadur Shah Zafar---The Emperor who wrote his own Epitaph with a burnt stick on the wall.

The empire was theirs—all the land belonged to them—the treasury was theirs—all the currency was issued by them—for they were the mighty Moguls—The rulers of the land—their last crowned Emperor was Bahadur Shah Zafar.

Though not as powerful as his predecessors; he still collected taxes and had an army.

He posed no threat to the British power in India, till the day there started the Indian Rebellion of 1857 .

Already 82 years of age at that time, when the soldiers met him, he gave his public support to the rebellion, even though he was against the open looting, killing and disorder created by the rebelling soldiers.

Later he was exiled to Rangoon, Burma by the British.

His health soon deteriorated and he requested the British to let him return to die in his beloved land—they did not agree.

As his last wish he requested the British to arrange for his burial in his beloved land—they did not agree.

He was a great poet, On his dead bed he wanted to write his last words, the British did not even give him  a pen, paper or ink.

Then with a burnt stick this devout Sufi wrote on the wall; his last poem his own epitaph.

The immortal words of Raja bahadur shah zafar.

He writes that: He for his burial did not even get two yards of land, in the land of his beloved.

He who was the Emperor –all belonged to him—did not even get a burial place in his land.

 Translation:

My heart has no repose in this despoiled land
Who has ever felt fulfilled in this futile world?

The nightingale complains about neither the sentinel nor the hunter
Fate had decreed imprisonment during the harvest of spring

Tell these longings to go dwell elsewhere
What space is there for them in this besmirched (bloodied)
Heart

Sitting on a branch of flowers, the nightingale rejoices
It has strewn thorns in the garden of my heart

I had requested for a long life, I received four days
Two passed in desire, two in waiting.

The days of life are over, evening has fallen
I shall sleep, legs outstretched, in my tomb

How unfortunate is Zafar! For his burial
Not even two yards of land were to be had, in the land of his beloved.

How can we rely on our fortunes? What material things will we take with us?----even the Emperor lost it all-----but left his immortal words.

In spite of the world history we have to stay in love.

stay in love

So much Pomp; such Magnificent and splendid appearance; grandeur……………….
But behind all this; who are they? Plunderers, mass murderers.

I am writing about the royals and am I wrong?

Ranjit Singh was crowned ruler of the Punjab region and willed the Kohinoor to the Jagannath Temple in Orissa from his deathbed in 1839. But after his death the British administrators did not execute his will.
And the diamond went to the Queen of England.

Can you wear something which is stolen and walk with pride?

But for the royals it a part of their life; it is in their blood

Did they not allow “legalized piracy”, to help finance their wars,
----the so called Privateers---the lawful pirates.

Francis Drake was England’s most famous privateer. Sharing his profits with Elizabeth I, who knighted him for his services.

The list of dictators who got political asylum after committing atrocities is large.

The sentence was rightly coined “If you kill one person, you go to jail; if you kill 20, you go to an institution for the insane; if you kill 20,000, you get political asylum.”

The cannibal Idi Amin--- The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000 to 500,000. Spent his remaining life in all expenses-paid villa on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.

Pinochet-- of Chile  was eventually released without facing trial.

Jean-Bedel Bokassa, self-proclaimed emperor of the Central African Republic,. He was accused of murdering and sometimes eating those who criticised him, including 100 children who complained about the school uniforms they had to buy from his factory.
After being deposed and living in exile he returned to Africa and he was freed a few years later.

Pol Pot-- Cambodia the killing fields continued to lead the Khmer Rouge He died never having faced charges.

Ean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier--- President of Haiti, made millions from involvement in the drug trade and from selling body parts from dead Haitians, thousands of Haitians were killed or tortured, slipped quietly away to be granted asylum by France and live out his days among the luxury yachts and villas of the Cote d'Azur. {however currently facing charges in his own country}

The list goes on and on………..

If we start writing the atrocities committed by the American and Israeli rulers will this post ever end?

Even the so called peacekeepers-- the NATO war crimes are known to all.

The corporate crimes / the conspiracy theories / the crimes committed by the Catholic Church / what not-- want not.

In spite of such world history we have to stay in love.

Life goes on…….

Today if you type “harry” in Google search you will be prompted to harry porter and not to harry Truman—the president who used nuclear weapons against civilian populations—Historic crime against humanity---the 2,00,000 most cruel deaths.

The world has long forgotten Harry Truman or the cruel Changez khan. But the world still bows in reverence in front of the one who carried his own cross.

he did it out of love and he taught the world the meaning of sacrifice.

Garuda Ganga the miracle stream

Everything is science; most of which is beyond present human understanding.

There are a few paranormal phenomena in my life, which remain as mysteries.

I had some connection with snakes; my childhood was spent in a crowded suburb yet there were so many instances where I had seen snakes not just small ones but huge cobras, sometimes in pairs.

Then we shifted to a completely green area, seeing snakes were a say daily instance, sometimes very close to my body.

When I sailed on ships many times I saw water snakes.

The day when I left home for my first visit to the Himalayas a huge snake fell close to my body from a tree.

Now the story shifts to the Himalayas reroute to Badrinath {I was travelling with a group} we halted at Garuda Ganga a small stream; many cars were parked there and there were many visitors.

I don’t know why but I strongly felt like picking up a stone from the stream, but I did not.

Back in the car a lady asked me if I had collected stones, I said “no”.

She handed me a few stones and told me that people come to this place to take stones and who ever keeps a stone from here is not troubled by snakes, also before building houses people lay  stones from here in the foundation of their house.

And yes this proved to be true; since then I who has always come across snakes have never sited one.

Garuda; is a mythical bird-like creature that appears in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

Garuda---The Divine Bird and Mount of Lord Vishnu.

Whenever I travel on the road to Badrinath; I collect a few stones to distribute to people who want to experience the miracle of the Garuda Ganga.

What have we gained.........

Once a householder came to pay his respects to the Maha Yogi Goraksha {one of the nine nath’s}
With folded hands, he said: “Oh Respected One, your sacrifice is great, for you have given up the whole world for God.” Goraksha replied with folded hands: “Oh Respected One, Your sacrifice is greater than mine for you have given up the infinite God for this finite world.”

Akhand Jyoti (eternal flame) at the Badrinath temple

 High above in the Himalayas is the Badrinath temple; this temple is open for 6 months in a year, in winter the temple remains closed {locked and sealed}

Since ancient times a small lamp has always kept burning in the temple;  when the temple is reopened after winter this lamp is always found to be burning also the flowers that were kept in the temple when the temple closed are still fresh; people take it as a miracle of the Badrinath temple.

Now myself a tanker man {working on dangerous cargo ships} proud of my knowledge on flammability once met the head priest of the temple and inquired about the miracle of the eternal burning lamp.

This is what he told me-----nothing is a miracle; everything is science, to understand why the lamp keeps burning you must understand a flammable mixture.

He said that 2500 years ago Adi Shankracharya who reestablished this temple wrote a recipe for the mixture of the oil lamp he prescribed the names of the herbs that have to be mixed in ghee made from cow’s milk further he instructed that this mixture be prepared by girls less than 10 years of age only.

The mixture is such that only a very small amount of oxygen is needed and it gives out no carbon dioxide; one can call it a perfect flammable mixture hence a small lamp can keep burning for 6 months.

Since ancient times the residents of Mana village near Badrinath {which is the last Indian village on the border with Tibet} have prepared this mixture for the temple.

Road to Mana village
Little girl of Mana village; in future she will make the mixture for the temple

And regarding the flowers which remain fresh the head priest told me that this variety of flowers again recommended by Adi Shankracharya are of such species that they do not fade.

The head priest further told me the reason behind the char dham yatra {written in the post "reason behind the char dham yatra"}.

I had the opportunity to meet him twice and had a very rich experience meeting this person.

Such people always enrich our lives.

Why not to eat beef

The shape of the forehead symbolizes intellect and intelligence; you will never find a famous person with a small forehead

The forehead is a measure of the development of the Pineal gland {also referred to as to as the third eye / seat of the soul}

Of course animals do not have foreheads but look at that area on the head of any creature Look at the head of less evolved creatures say the worm or a cockroach there is hardly any development in the pineal gland now look at the head of a cow see it has a highly developed pineal gland

Life evolves upward from levels lower than even apparent animation; animals that have a close association with human beings evolve more quickly, and are likely to be promoted sooner to the level of human evolution. { love read inverse is evol }

The slaughtering of these more highly evolved animals produces strong emotions such as fear and anger which remain as vibrations in the meat itself and increase people’s naturally aggressive and/or fearful tendencies.

According to a study of more than 120,000 people carried out over 28 years it is scientifically proven that regularly eating red meat increases significantly risk of death from heart disease and cancer.

Pork is an unclean food; the very sweetness of ham is due to the pus it contains

The information regarding beef causing cancer and “pork facts” are available on the internet

The food one eats has an effect on the clarity and upliftment of the mind; it plays an important role not only in bodily health but also in one’s spiritual life.

One Swami had rightly said “throw a piece of meat and some grains on the ground afterwards you will yourself see that the meat only invites bacteria but the grains sprout to give life”

In the pictures below look at the eyes of the cow they say it all.

Mahavatar Babaji and the 6000 year old idol at the Badrinath temple

Legend has it that somewhere close to Badrinath there exists The Mahavatar Babaji—the eternal deathless master

The world first heard about Babaji courtesy Paramahansa Yogananda's book “Autobiography of a Yogi” {most read autobiography in the world} and Sri Yukteswar Giri’s book “The Holy Science”.

since then Babaji has become a very big name in the spiritual super market.

below is the sketch of Babaji from the book “Autobiography of a Yogi”

Mahaavatar Babaji

Ravalji {head priest of the badrinath temple} has a very old drawing of the idol of the Badrinath temple.

Initially drawn as a pencil sketch by a Ravalji at an earlier time .  it is said that after drawing this sketch he went into the Himalayas, never to return. This pencil sketch is undated and is said to be very old.

below is the photo of the original sketch

sketch of the idol at the Badrinath temple

below are photos of the head priest showing the sketch {which has now been coloured } to visitors

Why is there a Striking resemblance between the drawing of the Badrinath idol and Babaji ?

Is it that the meditating Vishnu at the Badrinath temple {idol} manifests himself in flesh and blood as the Mahaavatar  Babaji ……………….

Some questions remain unanswered till ……………………………….one day when…………………………..

Authentic design of Shree Yantra

More content was added to this article on 20th Jan 2020

2500 years back Adi Shankaracharya presented this Shree Yantra to the Chidambaram temple in south India.

He also presented a sphatik (crystal) Shivling to the temple; the most ancient Chidambaram temple is one of the five temples of Shiva which represent different elements (Earth, air, fire, water and ether); this temple represents the ether element.

These five temple's were built on the Earth’s magnetic equator (the magnetic equator of the Earth passed through south India at that time) and the layout and architecture of the temple is replete with philosophical meanings and all the five temples representing the elements are truly an engineering, astrological and geographical wonders

This temple houses various priceless objects one among those is a small idol of Natraj made of ruby.

The main idol is Natraj; Shiva dancing the Ananda Tandava; The dance of eternal joy.

How and in what direction should the Shree yantra be placed?

Upward facing triangle represents the male, fire energy; fire has a natural tendency to rise upwards, so males display more ambition.

Downward facing triangle represents the female, the yoni, water energy; water has a natural tendency to flow down and spread (may be that is why females cannot keep a secret and spread it)

The Shree yantra represents feminine energy hence if placed vertically like in the above photos the 4 triangles point up and 5 triangles point down.

If the yantra is placed flat (horizontally) or in case of the Meru (3 dimensional yantra) the correct direction would be the apex of the central triangle faces east instead of west. So when you sit opposite to it for the worship, the apex should be on the side nearer to you and not on the farther side (temples are supposed to face east, so when you pray you face west)

The 4 triangles point west and the 5 triangles point east.

More information on the direction of the vertically placed Shree yantra is in the second part of this article, link provided at the bottom

Below 3 photos of the Meru Shree Yantra at the Matrubhuteswara Shrine at the Ramana Maharishi Ashram, this yantra dimensions were given by the Maharishi and was sanctified by Sri Maharshi’s own touch

Gratitude to Shri Arthur M Coucouvitis for providing the above photos

A Shree Yantra Geoglyph which appeared mysteriously in 1990 on a dry bed of a lake in Oregon U.S.A, had been  drawn at a scale of nearly one-quarter-mile across and 13.3 miles of lines; this certainly appears to be  a paranormal activity.

Below is the Seed of Life

The Shree yantra can be drawn exactly within the Seed of Life---same sacred geometry proportions—this method is known as the Lori LaPage method of drawing the Shree yantra

Also, since it is a feminine yantra it may better be called a SHREE yantra rather than SRI yantra.
